Imagine being able to give away something that is actually helpful, which in turn fosters goodwill, allows you to build a responsive list of loyal fans and future customers and then also makes you good money. Oh yea, imagine that it also drives massive “viral” traffic and that it makes your site sticky!
What I am about to share with you is solid business-building stuff that can have a huge impact on your online business and its bottom-line profits. I call the method “Giveaway Profits” and implementing its tactics can hike you up into a new tax bracket in a matter of months. It has certainly done that for me.
Before we move on, I want to assure you that what I am about to share with you is in no way based on a mere theory or some dreamed up secret tactic and it is, for that matter, not a $37 dollar software scam. Rather, it is founded on my own personal and concrete experience and on the methods by which I made bucket loads of money, built a highly focused list and helped many individuals along the way.
Giveaway Profits can be leveraged to create a valuable list and is most effective in this capacity. However, Giveaway Profits can be implemented without a list as well, and it will still have the power to stir up a colossal buzz and thus generate impressive returns.
Old School Marketing
Giveaway Profits is based on a very old sales tactic: give new customers tremendous deals on products and/or services, take care of customers and treat them well. In turn, they will buy more products and/or services from you which then improves your ROI (return on investment). This tactic has been used by companies, big and small, for many years and only for one reason — it works!
Old School to New School
This Old School Marketing concept was quickly adopted by Internet markets who were looking to build their online lists. The idea is simple — entice people with freebies in exchange for their email addresses. While this concept is sound and can generate large lists, all too many get it completely wrong and so they are ultimately disappointed, time and time again.
The true essence of online list building is based on fair exchange — you give visitors something and, in exchange, they gladly give you their email addresses. In other words, you will have a means by which to contact them again in the future while they walk away with something, hopefully, of value.
It is this precise transaction that is so very important for YOUR overall success. Give visitors something of real, tangible and apparent value and you will gain respect and appreciative cooperation.
They will look forward to consuming your content; whether it is in the form of a video, an email or an actual product that you sell. Simply stated, you would have peaked their interest. You will, in fact, become the content conduit for the subject they are most attracted to. Again, you will have their full attention as well as their trust and unswerving loyalty.
On the other hand, if your giveaway proves to be of no use to visitors, they will turn away from you even if they have already made it onto your list.
The Giveaway
When it comes to the free giveaways, most marketers give away the wrong stuff and in the wrong way. And often the true culprit is PLR (private label rights).
What You Give Away & How You Give It Away
Online entrepreneurs are aware of the need to build a list and they know that there is also a need to give something away. But they look for the “easy button” and buy a PLR product such as an eBook, video course or a software application. Please don’t miss understand me, there is nothing wrong with using PLR in your online marketing. However, it is important to deliver (the how) a giveaway that offers true value in the subscribers’ eyes.
If you do not add anything to the PLR product which you give away, then the chances are that you are offering pretty much the same thing which other marketers may also be giving away. Furthermore, you are not really offering valid advice based on actual experience. Today, people want real stuff. They want proof and they want to trust that you are the one person who can help them achieve their goals. PLR products used as giveaways all by themselves will result is little to no interest in you or in that which you are attempting to share, and this will lead to failed results and painful disappointments.
Lastly, when purchasing items to be used as giveaways, it is much too easy to lose sight of your own experience and the content you wish to share. Instead, you might consider purchasing a potential giveaway that is based on your intuitive feel for the current market’s reaction.
Getting Them Interested in What You Have to Share
What is lacking in most freebie giveaways (such as those I’ve listed above) is real experience, credible believability and solid proof. When giving away a PLR eBook which was purchased but not augmented with your own customization, you end up with a freebie that does not tell your story and, consequently, fails to give your subscriber what they want.
Such a freebie does not convey why you did something, what impact it had when you did it (either positive or negative), which part of what you did worked well and which did not, and so on.
Conversely, when you impart your story while weaving in helpful advice and useful tips, more people pay closer attention to that which you have to share. Earlier I mentioned that there is nothing wrong with using PLR as long as you do it the right way. One effective method which I have used with great success involves adding my own content to a PLR product. For example, purchase a PLR eBook on affiliate marketing, add your own training videos and call it the “Up Close and Personal – Extended Version.”
This gives your subscribers exactly what they are after — real methods which are based on your authentic experience and proof along the way. This will capture your subscribers’ attention and will make them more receptive to what you have to share in the future. Needless to say, this will put you in a much better position to sell because if they listen they will also buy.
Making Money with Your Free Giveaway
Before we get into the monetization of this method, let me touch on which type of market the Giveaway Profits method makes most sense for. Personally, I have used this very same method in a number of ways to boost my own online brand. I have done this with tutorial videos (YouTube), case studies and free reports within Internet Marketing. This method also works very well in any major online market such as Forex, weight loss or similar niches where Internet surfers are searching.
The Power of Large Markets & Passionate Consumers
People spend their money on that which they are passionate about. I love music and I love Prince as I’ve lived in Minnesota for much of my life. So, I have purchased at least a dozen Prince music CDs and I have also attended many of his concerts. My wife loves to jokingly complain about how much of “our” money has ended up in that little man’s pockets.
I also love gadgets. When I got into online videos, I purchased about four or five camcorders. The first was a flip camcorder, then a regular high end standard definition camcorder, then a $1,000 Cannon HD camcorder, then another flip and then … (gosh I might have a problem here) another flip but this time an HD flip! Crazy? Yes! My point is that passion drives people to repeatedly spend money.
When I began to share my ideas about online marketing, I felt that informational products made the most sense. The great thing about big markets is the fact that people who get on your list also listen, pay attention and consequently purchase. And so, I gave away great content which helped many and also included some product recommendations along the way. I did this while keeping it real, telling my story and providing proof which is what most marketers fail to deliver.
Example:
If your niche is weight loss, …
… you might tell your story about how you lost weight and, in the process, also recommend a product or service which you’ve personally used with success. This is exactly what I did several years ago when I got my start and it really worked.
I began by sharing ideas on YouTube. This pointed people to my site where they inevitably subscribed. I created reports, blog posts (much like this one, by the way) where I shared more ideas about spinning content and recommended several content spinners, and I made several hundred dollars. I hosted a free webinar that touched on my experience with Halloween and how I have sold many thousands of costumes while also providing viewers with a PDF download which contained some of the methods and tactics I had used. This PDF also mentioned a coupon for saving money with a webhosting company which I have used and thus it lead to great webhosting affiliate commissions for me. When smartly balancing product recommendations against actionable tips and constructive tactics, Giveaway Profits can make you a tremendous amount of money.
After building up a solid reputation, it would then make sense to package up your information and sell it online, but that is something to think about down the road. These are the core concepts behind Giveaway Profits. When applied correctly, this is a method that can have a JOB ENDING impact on the bottom line of your online business and it most certainly has the power to take your marketing to the next level.
This Saturday, I will provide online training via a live webinar with my fellow wealth scientists. During this Saturday live presentation I will describe, in detail, how ANYONE with ANY EXPERIENCE online can duplicate my success by using Giveaway Profits and in the process generate great income while at the same time building a massive list.
