Want to Make Money? Do This (it’s Proven)
Want to make money online? It’s easier than you think, just follow the six steps listed below.
Today, as I fly home from a business trip in southern California I felt compelled to share some proven and effective methods for making money online. However, before I move on and get into the nitty gritty I want to warn you a bit.
Do not expect the normal Brian G. Johnson wordpress laced, seo geek speak.
While this post contains information that has made thousands of men (and women of course) rich beyond their wildest dreams, it has nothing to do with Internet marketing. In fact the methods (actually steps) I am prepared to share with you today have been around for dozens and dozens if not hundreds of years. Obviously, this means these steps to financial freedom did not come to me in a wild dream about online riches. Bottom line is that I stole am practicing these very steps myself in order to reach my own personal goals in making money online.
I learned about these simple but incredibly powerful steps to financial freedom while on my flight to California while reading the classic book that all the guru’s keep telling you to read, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I have been reading this fantastic book now since December when I first downloaded it in preparation for a ski trip to Jackson Hole. I am only on chapter two, it is a book to savor and study …. It is a book to return to time and again, one where taking time to pause is very beneficial as this information needs time to process. That and I am also busy doing the day to day tasks that make me money online. In chapter two Napoleon speaks about six steps that both you and I can begin to start implementing right now today. Steps that will help us, almost insure us that we will reach our goals online and that is where the steps begin.
Six Steps to Getting What You Want Out of Life – Napoleon Hill, Think & Grow Rich
- Fix in Your Mind
Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you want, it is not sufficient to say “I want boat loads of money. - Give in Return
Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.”) - Establish a Date
Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money. - Create a Plan
Create a definite plan for carry out your desire and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action. - Write it Out
Write out a clear,concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for the acquisition, state what you intend to give for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it. - Read it, Often
Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just just prior to retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ-SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY.
The simple steps are chuck full of the kind of tips you here guy like me mentioning time and time again, you know …stuff like:
- Take action
- Create a plan
- Focus
- Follow through
- Take action
- Create goals
- And more
Today online the opportunities are simply endless, I am floored with the various methods that thousands and thousands of people are utilizing to make money online. If your just getting started now, if your currently in the mode of “learning and studying” then let me do you a huge favor right now.
Decide How You Will Make It Happen Online
Understand there are a handful of methods that you can get started on such as:
- Affiliate Marketing via SEO
- Affiliate Marketing via PPC
- Product Sales
- Adsense / Content Sites
- Blogging
Make it your business to research and study the various methods I have listed above, these methods are proven money makers and you will be a able to find mentors in each sector to shadow. Once you have decided then see step four and begin at once. Just do it, spend a month studying and then start taking action. Just do it, really …. take action.

Great post, I’ve read that book 5 times and am looking forward to the 6th in the near future.
Here is something I would add:
Put some money in the pot…
Oh-oh, here comes a poker analogy
Many people play poker with pennies or no money at all, and that’s fine, but the REAL game doesn’t get played that way because there are no stakes in the pot.
If you lose all your chips, you lose nothing, you just start over.
Sadly that doesn’t make you richer, nor does it make you a better poker player.
Let’s transpose the same to business. Many start out gathering a lot of knowlege and information. Guess what: that amounts to virtual poker chips in the grand scheme of things.
The things you learn have about as much meaning as winning or losing $100 virtual dollars…
What I’m saying here is take action fast, even when you don’t know what you’re doing.
That’s how you go from a a lifelong learning curve to a bare minimum learning curve. (where you learn the right stuff and leave the rest of the academics to argue about)
You play, you lose a bit, you really learn, you come back stronger…
It’s clear we learn more from our mistakes than from our successes, so go out there and screw something up

Could not agree more, it is not so much “getting things right” but just rather doing them. I can remember when I got serious years ago, I had a simple goal.
To learn basic seo skills and to drive lots and lots of traffic to a culinary site I was developing. My goals had little to do with money but rather were based on learning a skill set I knew I would need if I wanted to succeed online.
I also had a very clear goal …
This is one area I see people getting in trouble with today. So many people are not focused on any one area, and they get started with project after project never really giving any one system a real chance to work.

Nice post Brian, and also an important one for all Internet marketers, especially those of us who are still rookies. Far too many people fail to follow their true dreams, because they fail to develop the proper mindset that makes them able to reach any kind of success in their online efforts. I totally agree with Alex: Action, action, action is the key. It is the action that we take that will change our way of thinking about what we are really capable of accomplishing. The book is right about the importance of having clearly defined goals. But it is just as, or even more, important to be flexible and not get discouraged when things don’t go the way we planned. Goals are not set in stone and often need to be adjusted.
I have read the book a long time ago and need to review it again.
As to the importance of action I think that is where most of us have a tendency to fail. I would add though, that the action has to be informed. Not just action for its own sake. Sticking with something makes sense as long as there is a perceivable value in it. To keep on doing something that is clearly not working won’t make sense.
I do get what you mean and I know that you mean well.
Thanks for your help in educating people like me. The level of your expertise and the talent for teaching it is not easily found.

I have never met a successful entrepreneur that does not have “Think And Grow Rich” in their library. I have created successful businesses in totally different markets…food,women’s designer clothing,nutrition, and several network marketing companies.
Much of the success of these different businesses I owe to the principals in Hill’s book.
Success leaves clues…just duplicate what successful people do instead of reinventing the wheel!
That is why I read and listen to everything Brian Johnson says because I am modeling an online entrepreneur that is making huge money online and staying current with Internet trends.

Other than that we also need to track our success. I means if we already in the right track or not. Sometimes create plan will not give a result if we have no idea which path we need to go. Therefor if after do an action we still fail, we better learn from history what going on than re-planing and start again.

Napoleon Hill’s book was the original “how to get rich” book and still is the most comprehensive. It’s a great read and a great book to have and read time and time again. Every time I read it I take something new away from it.
The philosophies in the book are studied in detail and nothing is left out. Great read!

Thanks for keeping it real. Everyone is going to make some bonehead mistakes starting out, but you have to get started!
Focusing on one area is also good advice. This is where lots of people get lost along the way. There is so much information and advice out there, and a lot of dreams being sold. You have to pick a target and put on the blinders.

I agree with you that you must have a plan of action even before you begin your new project. It only makes sense. You cannot build a fence without making plans first and that is the same as building your niche site.
Research/find a hungry crowd.
Findiing good keywords.
Find the product to market/your hungry crowd.
Write your articles and post them.
If your passionate about your niche you will do all the research first and have 1 or 2 articles ready a head of time.

Brian, thanks for these wonderful tips. I’ve bookmarked your post and will read it again but more so I will look for the book by Napoleon Hill and try to read it because I am not a good book reader. I’ve some plans in my mind so will definitely try working on these six steps. Now a days we can do so much with Internet that it’s possible to earn money online but it ofcourse doesn’t come with easy ways and it’s as hard as you struggle to earn for money by doing office work etc.

For me the one that really hits home is #5 where we actually “write it down”. There is some magic that occurs when we do so. I have a file in which I accumulate my goals and the other day as I was browsing through it I saw a goal of a family van we wanted awhile back and behold, we have the exact van, same color and specs that was written on the paper. I had forgotten about the written goal but it did indeed manifest. Powerful stuff indeed. We easily forget to apply it. Thanks for the reminder. Got to go write some more down…

I think the biggest hurdle for people is taking action. Even if everything isn’t perfectly “ready” yet. Go ahead and start, then improve as you learn.
The other part is also to know that it is ok to change your plan. I know for me personally, before I found your course, I was doing something different. And while it appeared to be a good idea, and would have made money with enough effort, I found it felt wrong for me.
It was when I found your course that I knew this was “the one”. So I changed my course of action and now am focusing on doing what you have been teaching.

As one of yours and Alex’s first Google Conquest members I have had this stuff drummed into me for almost twelve months and its working. Prior to GC I was making nothing online, now I am. I have even established a small SEO business working with local companies until my online earnings make that unnecessary. Without taking absolutely massive action and staying focused I would have achieved nothing. Alex is right by the way, you have to spend some money if you want the best training but you have to stick with it until it works.

I’ve struggled for seven years online before I made any money at all. This was regardless of which course I bought or which guru I followed.
All of the lack of success and frustration I suffered was from not having the right mindset. Once I started working on the constraints that were really holding me back (in 2005) things finally started to change for me.
I’ve since read many success and self-help books and Think and grow rich was right at the top of the list. I didn’t actually read it I listened to it on audio book, my favorite way to read.
I first read Think and Grow Rich when I was a kid and it is certainly one of the best alongside The Master Keys by Charles Hannel. The first commissions I have made online have been by following the Commision ritual formula, with the Inner Circle Halloween sites. Thanks Brian.
Yes this is a fine book. I think this has already been mentioned but I think it is key in succeeding – you don’t have to do it right, just do it. The right comes later. You will stuff up, accept that and keep on moving forward. And the stuff ups aren’t that bad anyway.

When we focus on our goal we set our reticular activation system a part in the brain to focus on it. We suddenly find more information about the thing we focus on. what we focus on we bring into our lives when creating goals and achiveing them.
There is no point visualising a goal if we dont take action as you mentioned in your post.
top tip..
1when we have a goal focus on seeing feeling what we have achieved.
2then set your mind to find all the steps to get you there
as they pop up during the day, pay attention to them write them down and make them happen.

Napoleon Hill’s book is a classic full of ideas about how the mind works. I recommend you also read “The Science of Getting Rich” written in 1910 that also contains valuable lessons. You can download it for free from forgottenbooks.
Those sound like some very promising 6 steps, I did the first one within my first year of internet marketing but I came no where near to the amount of money I wanted to make, so as my new years resolution I am going to keep the same goal to make 20,000k this year as a part timer on the internet. I also want to look into the “think and grow rich” book – as I know to be successful in this business the mind set must be right.
