Tom Leung who is the Business Product Manager for Google Website Optimizer was the feature keynote speaker at the BCAIM (British Columbia Association of Integrated Marketing) Conference and he told his listeners that online marketing is rapidly moving from clicks of mouse buttons to conversions into sales of products and/or services. The topic of his speech, by the way, is: “Escape the Dark Ages of Online Marketing.”
Tom goes on to tell his riveted audience that there are very deliberate ways to increase rates of conversion and he encourages them to evoke strategic forethought to experiment with a variety of methods to see what works and what does not in their particular niche market and their very specific products or services. Also, there are certain aspects of every business that can and should be tested for effectiveness and efficacy which will then indicate what needs changing, amending, revising, etc.
All that, the experimentation and testing, is needed in order to improve the rates at which visitors convert into buyers, and the sooner that is accomplished the better it is for any online business.
