Sam Goldfarb of Tradimax.com, provides a great explanation of the crucial difference between a Facebook “page” and a “user profile” in this video clip from the Affilicon convention on web marketing. Sam explains that you are able to have an unlimited number of fans on a Facebook page.
However, he points out that if you use a regular user profile, you cannot have more than five thousand friends, so your marketing will therefore be limited. A page on the other hand, enables you to have unlimited potential for amassing “fans,” or people who are interested in your business and make their interest known on Facebook.
Sam stresses that you should use the crucial power of the page’s “news feed” to your advantage. The news feed is a significant force which propels the spread of information. If somebody likes your businesses’ page, this action will show up on that person’s friend’s news feed, so the friend then learns about your business.
