Over the next several days I am going to be sharing some hard hitting WICKEDLY EFFECTIVE super affiliate tactics that plain work.

Tactics and strategies that will allow you to:

  • Drive More Traffic
  • Convert More Sales
  • Ultimately Earn More Money (as an affiliate)

Today, I want to convey something which far TOO MANY wannabe Super Affiliates continuously mess up on.  In fact, let me go on record right now for saying:

“If affiliates did a better job at choosing the right niche markets to enter and the right keywords to target, they would be making far more money.”

========================================================
Choose the Right Niche and Making Money Will Become an Easy Walk in the Park
========================================================

However, the sad fact is this:

Most affiliates DO NOT choose the right niche market or if they do, they then choose keyword phrases which are just too competitive. In the end, the results are always the same …

Broken (and broke) newbie affiliates who become jaded and disillusioned are left to wonder if it really is possible to make any money as an affiliate.

So, How Do You Choose a Profitable Niche and an Effective Keyword to Target?

The following formula was not created or based on mere theory.  Rather, it is trialed and true because I have used it time and time again on my own affiliate business.  It has helped me find keyword phrases which were easy to rank for yet still proved to be incredibly lucrative.

In fact, during September and October I used this same formula to earn more than 10K in affiliate commissions plus over 12K in AdSense earnings.

It is my hope that you incorporate this into your business right now, today. Doing so will have a profound effect on your bottom line.

* Niche Markets Based On Products / Services That Sell Well Online.

Once I began creating sites that related ONLY to products or services which people buy, my business increased dramatically.

The idea is to find items which are currently “selling well online” and there are many way for finding out just which items those would be.

One method which I often use is to see whether the product I am thinking of promoting is sold via eBay.  If it is, then I can take it one step further by checking whether anyone is bidding on it.

The more bids the better.  After all, a bid equals an intent to buy.  Thus, these are the types of products I target for affiliate sales and you should too.

Another “does it sell” indicator is “reviews” by real people. These are found on sites like Amazon.com.  If the product you’re thinking of promoting is found on Amazon, then look at how many customer reviews the product has.
Obviously, the more reviews the better.

Once you have identified a search term that is based on a product or a service that sells well online, you can then continue to evaluate the term. This is the second part of my Super Affiliate formula and it is based on filtering.

You need to filter out search terms that are:

  • Too Competitive
  • Do Not Have Enough Traffic

* Can I Rank in the Search Engines for My Target Keyword Phrase?

The best way to identify search terms that are easy to rank for is by scanning through the top thirty results of Google and looking for “user generated” websites that appear there.

And user generated site ranking in the top thirty is a great indication that you too will be able to rank for the chosen search term.

- What Are User Generate Websites?

Any website that is based on people like you and me who are adding content to a site is a “user generated site.”  These are also known as Web 2.0 sites.

  • YouTube.com and all other video sites are User Generated Sites
  • EzineArticles.com and all other article sites are User Generated Sites
  • Digg.com and any type of bookmarking site is a User Generated Site

In other words, if the keyword you’re researching has user generated sites which are ranking in the top thirty of Google, this is an excellent indication that with some basic on-page SEO you will have no problem ranking well.  And if you rank well, you will also be driving traffic to the site you create.

* Can this Term Make Me Any Money?

The last part of this formula is to gauge the earning potential of a keyword phrase.  It is important to evaluate several factors:

- What is the Average Affiliate Commission?
- How Many People are Searching with this exact Phrase Monthly?

If you researching a term that would result in a $100 affiliate commission (such as webhosting) then you do not need as much traffic as you would for something that pays smaller amounts (such as a Halloween costume which may result in a $5 or $10 dollar commission).

Instead of only looking for large affiliate payouts, you need to look at the big picture, that is:

  1. Affiliate Payments
  2. Traffic Volume for the Term
  3. Just How Competitive It Will Be to Rank

Today online at a forum I hang out at somone post “just can not seam to make any money”. The forum I am at has some teaching online about targeting IM product launches, and while they can make you some nice money it is certainly not “the easiest” money to make online in my humble opion.

I thought I offered some good tips and ideas for those just getting started. I am going to past in my response in hope that it will help out some marketers that are ready to through in the towel.

My reponse:

Well it may seam easy from the outset, I will tell you that I put in lots of effort and I do not always earn money in each venture I test out. I do want to comment on something I have had in the back of my mind with the methods being taught here. Many of the players here were all excited about the *Googlizer* system or method when they came into players.

Now it has been mentioned that this method can also be applied to niches outside of IM, however I do not think I have seen many people try to crank out a site outside of IM.

Here is the issue I have with the Googlizer if your just getting started and can not seam to make things work.

1) Your entering into a very, very competative market. Your competing with about 1000 of frickin marketers that also understand this web 2 0 marketing tactic. Let’s not kid ourself here guys. The word is out, it is no longer “underground”. This means their will dozens of “hubs”, squidoo lens, blogger blogs, videos …and everyone one is using the same method.

2) You time is limited, the money is to be made on *launch day* … this means you need to know what your doing prior to getting started and you need to be able to launch stuff with near perfect on page seo already in place.

This is really not the time to learn, or correct something … the clock is ticking. You could spend a ton of time putting up a lens to find you forgot the meta description or your title tag features a **miss spelling** of the product name.

~ your toast ~

3) You manage to make several sale if thing go well, lets say you make 6 sale. Your all happy, then three days later the dreaded returns… you end up making at best around $200

For several weeks of effort.

Example:

I did a Googlizer for a Micheal Cheney product and got maybe 3 sales, one was returned. I made about $120. I spend about two days working on this project and could have maybe done better if I worked harder.

But for the amount of time you invest you could do much better by cranking out sites for very niche terms that have little compitiion. Then monetize via adsense. One bennefit is that the clock is NOT ticking. As long as your sending traffic you have a revenue stream.

Also, your not competing with about 90 other marketers …

I myself am doing another Googlizer right now for an IM product. But my goal is not so much to make money but to grow my list and to get on a leader board. I need other strong marketers to back me…..

One last story ….

I worked for nine months when I got started just trying to learn to launch a nice looking site while targeting the type of search terms I mentioned above. I did not even try to make money, I just wanted to teach myself how to make a solid looking page and how to target free search traffic.

Nine months I taught myself, not really thinking about the money. I knew if I could teach myself that skill the money would come.

It takes time in the beginning, hang in and try another route.

Additional Info:

What is this Googlizer stuff your speaking about?

The Googlizer is a core concept that Alex Goad used over the last several years to tap into large amounts of free traffic while piggy backing off internet marketing product launches. It involves quickly building a site around a product name and then pointing as many links to the site as  possible. Often times social networking sites, bookmarking sites and videos sites are using to build links to a site and further drive traffic.
